December is here!

Hello Friends!

We can't believe that December is already here. We took a trip to California a couple of weeks ago and found a nice little townhome to rent. We are thrilled with the neighborhood and the extra space we'll finally have. The kids are most excited about the yard, Lori is most excited about the washer & dryer, and William is most excited about the central location between the San Francisco and San Jose office locations! Anyway, we're all happy and are looking forward to yet another change for our family.

As if to remind me that I should have said "knock on wood" twice or three times in my last posting, the pregnancy encountered some challenges over the Thanksgiving break but is hopefully progressing well now. This little guy wants to make sure we are not taking him for granted for one second, and with all these scares, it is impossible to do so. Whoever he is, he must be special, because he continues to thrive despite all these complications. We cannot wait to meet him.

Abraham and Annabelle are doing great---talking, singing, playing, sometimes sharing, and of course, fighting---all the things siblings are "supposed" to do :) They are enjoying their Music Exploration class at BYU (where Abraham belives himself to be the star drummer) as well as their gymnastics classe in Orem (where Annabelle reigns queen of the balance beam). They are learning a lot, growing way to quickly, and are both very excited to welcome their baby brother.

I'm sure we'll have another posting soon but this is our latest news. :)

First Qian Family Posting: November 14, 2006

Dear Friends & Family:

This blog is a new experiment. After seeing many of our friends' blogs, we thought "why not?". William assured me this was something I could handle (being the very non-technical person that I am), so I agreed to be in charge of it. We'll see how it goes!

Since this is the first posting, I'll keep it short and sweet until I see if this actually works. As far as our family update goes...

Our latest news is that we're heading to the Bay Area tomorrow in order to find a house. William will begin his job in San Francisco in January and we'll move there just a week before Christmas. We're starting to get excited and we're hoping we find a great place. Every time we ask Abraham what we're going to do in California, he says "find a new yard". Annabelle says, "new house". I guess the kids are as anxious as we are to have a change.

In other news, we are expecting a baby at the end of February. We hadn't formally announced it because it has been a difficult pregnancy with some serious complications at the beginning. However, knock on wood, it seems that things are progressing more normally now. We are told that the kids will welcome their baby brother around February 27.

In previous news, for those of you who don’t know, we had the opportunity to spend the entire summer in China. We introduced the kids to their grandparents and extended family in Hubei province. We went back to Guangzhou, the place William and I met five years ago. We completed a service project in Gan Quan (training secondary school English teachers) and, of course, worked! (William worked as a consultant for Mondoro Company and I taught summer school for one month.) It was an incredibly emotional learning experience for our family and I’m sure we’ll have more details on that in some future posting!

Well, I said I’d keep this short and sweet so I’d better end it for now. Hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving next week!
